A man has been found dead in a park in Staffordshire and a woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
The body of the man, in his 50s, was found in Queen Elizabeth Park in Newcastle-under-Lyme early this morning.
Officers arrested a woman, from the market town about two miles northwest of Stoke-on-Trent, following the fatal attack.
Police remain at the scene of Silverdale Road, a residential road that stretches away from the park and onto the main High Street, StokeOnTrent Live reported.
‘Just before 7.45am we were called to Queen Elizabeth Park, on Silverdale Road, Newcastle-under-Lyme, following reports a body had been found. Sadly, the body of a man in his 50s was found at the scene,’ police said.
‘A 30-year-old woman, from Newcastle-under-Lyme, was arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody. Officers remain at the scene.
