Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has recently made its Rs 777 broadband plan more appealing by significantly increasing the data limit and maintaining its high-speed offering. Initially launched in 2020 for select circles, this plan is now accessible in additional regions, reflecting BSNL’s commitment to enhancing internet accessibility across India. With this strategic move, BSNL aims to compete more aggressively in the broadband market.
Enhanced Data Benefits for Consumers
BSNL’s Rs 777 broadband plan initially provided customers with 500GB of data at speeds of up to 100 Mbps. However, in a welcome update, the plan now offers a generous 1500GB of data at the same high speed, catering to the increasing demand for data among internet users. After the consumption of the allocated 1500GB, speeds will be reduced to 5 Mbps, ensuring that users still have access to the internet for basic browsing and email checking. This plan adjustment is part of BSNL’s ongoing efforts to provide value-packed services to its customers.
Comparison with Other BSNL Broadband Plans
BSNL also offers other broadband plans at the 100 Mbps speed tier, including options priced at Rs 799 and Rs 849. The Rs 799 plan stands out by offering up to 1000GB of data along with OTT benefits such as Disney+ Hotstar, SonyLIV, ZEE5, and YuppTV, making it an attractive option for entertainment enthusiasts. On the other hand, the Rs 849 plan provides an impressive 3.3TB of data without any OTT perks. Notably, the Rs 849 plan offers a reduced post-FUP speed of 10 Mbps, slightly higher than the Rs 777 plan’s 5 Mbps, offering users more flexibility in their internet usage.
Additional Perks and Installation Fee Waiver
In a bid to attract more customers to its fiber broadband services, BSNL is currently waiving the installation fee of Rs 500 until the end of the current financial year. This initiative not only lowers the entry barrier for new customers but also demonstrates BSNL’s commitment to expanding its subscriber base by making its services more accessible. The Rs 777 plan also includes a complimentary fixed-line voice calling connection, adding further value for consumers.
With these recent updates to its broadband offerings, BSNL is poised to make a significant impact in the competitive broadband market. The enhanced Rs 777 plan, in particular, stands as a testament to BSNL’s dedication to delivering high-quality internet services at competitive prices. As the demand for reliable and high-speed internet continues to grow, BSNL’s strategic revisions to its plans could play a pivotal role in shaping the future of broadband connectivity in India.
