Cardi B has announced she’s ready to drop an album — and she promised that the opps, human or otherwise, wouldn’t defeat her.
In an Instagram story posted on Friday (March 1), the “Bodak Yellow” rapper showed that she had tons of songs, including some recorded as long ago as early 2023.
The video was captioned: “January 2023 ….I really got like 100 songs,” and the video showed a screen full of tracks for a song labeled “Cunty,” all recorded in late January of last year between 4 and 5 in the morning.
“January 27 of 20-20-fuckin’-three. I be working on this shit at 5 a.m. — you know I’m a night owl,” she said, referring to her work on that track. “I promise y’all this year: I’m not letting my anxiety, I’m not letting what haters say, I’m not letting what fans say… If I do a song, Imma just fuckin’ drop it.
“Well, I got no choice, because I’m dropping my album this year, so stay tuned for the announcement.”

On Friday (March 1), Cardi B dropped a song called “Like What (Freestyle),” which used elements of Missy Elliott’s “She’s a Bitch.” But the song prompted a comment from Ski Mask the Slump God to remark that Bardi had jacked his style.
The Florida rapper took to social media on Friday (March 1) to quote-tweet Cardi promoting the video her new track, while commenting, “Sounds Kinda Familiar.”
He was referring to his 2017 song “Catch Me Outside,” which uses a beat extremely similar to “Like What.” “Catch Me Outside,” whose video was directed by Cole Bennett, bills itself as a “remix” of “She’s a Bitch,” which was produced by Timbaland.
Production on “Like What (Freestyle)” is credited to James “DJ SwanQo” Steed, Sean Island, OctaneThisThatGas, and Lateef. In addition to the producers, Cardi, Missy and Timbaland all receive writing credit, according to Spotify.
Ski Mask self-produced “Catch Me Outside,” and only he, Missy, and Tim have writing credits, according to a search of the Songview database.
Some of Ski Mask’s fans felt that not only was Cardi’s beat similar to “Catch Me Outside,” but there were overlaps in the flow and the music videos.
“Even the mirror shots sort of similar,” one person commented.
“Ofc she stealing flows,” another said. Someone else chimed in, “Stole your whole flow.”
“All she does is steal Florida rappers beats and flows,” one person said, a reference to Cardi’s breakout hit “Bodak Yellow,” which interpolated Kodak Black’s “No Flockin.”
